Two people were killed and one was injured when a fairy chimney collapsed in Göreme, a town in Nevşehir's Cappadocia region.
Nevşehir Governor Hüseyin Kök said at the scene that heavy rainfall had triggered a landslide. "As of now, we have recovered the bodies of two people as a result of the rockfall caused by the landslide in Göreme. We have sent one injured person to the hospital, where they are receiving emergency treatment. Search and rescue efforts at the site are continuing," he said.
The collapse occurred near the entrance to the Göreme Open-Air Museum. Numerous fire, medical, and search-and-rescue teams, along with heavy machinery, were dispatched to the scene.
Images released by İHA show teams working in an area scattered with large pieces of rock.

According to an NTV reporter at the scene, about 150 vehicles were in the parking lot. The lot was evacuated and people were moved away from the area as a precaution against further collapses, while AFAD, gendarmerie and police teams continued their work.
Footage aired by NTV shows a thick cloud of dust covering the area after the collapse, visitors moving away from the parking lot, and ambulances and excavators arriving at the site.
The Göreme Open-Air Museum is part of the "Göreme National Park and the Rock Sites of Cappadocia," which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and is among Türkiye's most visited museums.

The story will be updated as details of the incident become clear.
