Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır announced science and technology events for students during the summer period under TÜBİTAK. In his written statement, Kacır said, "We will spend this summer having fun and learning together with TÜBİTAK Science Centers Summer Academies, DENEYAP Technology Workshops Summer School, National Technology Workshops Summer School, TÜBİTAK Science Camps, TÜBİTAK Science Talks and Science at Cafe Events, and TÜBİTAK Popular Science Publications."
Science Centers Summer Academy will last 3 terms
The Summer Academy Program, first implemented in 2025, opens its doors this year for 7th and 8th grade students with high academic achievement to explore their scientific curiosity. The program will offer hands-on training in various basic science fields, especially technology.
Hosted by a total of 42 science centers, the academy is planned to provide 24 hours of lessons per term and will be held in three terms between July 13 and August 23. Term 1: July 13-26, Term 2: July 27-August 9, Term 3: August 10-23. The last application date is July 4.
277 new projects in the field
After the completion of 3,680 "4006 Science Fairs" in schools during the March-May period, a total of 277 projects will be implemented between June and August 2026 under the 2025-2026 calls. These projects include 66 Nature Education and Science Schools, 36 Innovative Education Practices, 4 Science Festivals, 67 Inclusive Community Practices for Individuals with Special Needs, 66 Science Fair Festivals, and 38 Support Programs for Village Schools.
Meanwhile, AI-supported applications will be introduced in project feedback reporting, impact analyses, and evaluation processes; project preparation trainings will be conducted simultaneously.
In-person cybersecurity and mobile application classes
DENEYAP Cybersecurity and Mobile Application Classes have been converted from online to in-person education due to high demand. The classes, to be held between June 29 and July 24, aim to provide a more effective and hands-on learning experience.
The Science and Technology Workshops at the Presidential Complex National Library will continue with a total of 5 workshops on Tuesdays in July and August. Additionally, Interactive Science Reading Workshops, shaped around a TÜBİTAK Popular Science Publication each month to support children's reading habits, will be held at the National Library on July 21 and August 26. Science and technology workshops will be held every Wednesday at the Bilkent City Hospital FTR Polyclinic for children undergoing physical therapy and rehabilitation.
Robotics and coding training in 81 provinces
DENEYAP Technology Workshops Summer School will be open to all middle and high school students across Turkey. The "Robotics and Coding" training, to be given face-to-face between July 27 and August 14, aims to increase young people's hands-on technology development skills. Last application date is July 12; candidates can apply via the DENEYAP website.
National Technology Workshops Summer School
The National Technology Workshops Summer School for high school students born between 2008-2012 will last a total of 36 hours, 3 days a week, from July 20 to August 7. The program consists of 9 modules including digital design, Arduino coding, AI-supported projects, and TEKNOFEST report writing. Applications can be made until Friday, July 10, to participate in the trainings held at 48 universities.
Thematic science camps at TÜBİTAK Science High School
At the TÜBİTAK Science High School Campus in Gebze, 5 thematic camps will be held separately for girls and boys with a quota of 120 students per term. Girls can attend the "Sustainability and Zero Waste Cycle" camp on July 21-24, and boys on the same theme on July 26-29. The "Art and Mathematics" camp will meet with girls on July 31-August 3, and the "Science in Nature" camp will meet with boys on August 5-8 and girls on August 10-13. Detailed information is available on the relevant TÜBİTAK page.
Popular science publications come with summer-themed supplements
TÜBİTAK Popular Science Publications have also prepared content suitable for the summer holiday theme. "Meraklı Minik Magazine" will meet readers with educational supplements such as a suitcase preparation game and moving train model in its June issue, a jellyfish-themed fishing game and sea creature cards in July, and a paleontologist's bag and excavation site game in August. Traditional "Science at Cafe" events and "Science Centers Science Talks" will continue throughout the summer.
