President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone on Oct. 13 with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, discussing the latest developments in the region and the attacks on Saudi Arabia, Türkiye’s Directorate of Communications said.
Erdoğan said Türkiye condemns in the strongest terms the Houthi attacks targeting Saudi territory and offered his condolences for those killed. He added that Türkiye will continue to stand by Saudi Arabia and that he believes the kingdom will overcome this trial.
Airports under fire

The call came as Houthi missile and drone attacks on Saudi airports have intensified. According to figures compiled by Anadolu Agency, 10 attacks on five airports between Oct. 5 and 11 killed 20 people and injured hundreds. The Oct. 10 strike on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport killed 13 people and wounded 309.
Reuters reported that the Riyadh airport is expected to remain closed until Oct. 17, and many international airlines have suspended flights to Saudi Arabia.
