Galatasaray Club commemorated its founder Ali Sami Yen with a ceremony at his graveside in Feriköy Cemetery on the 75th anniversary of his death.
Galatasaray Club commemorated its founder Ali Sami Yen at his grave in Feriköy Cemetery on the 75th anniversary of his death.
The commemoration ceremony was attended by Galatasaray Club President Dursun Özbek, Divan Board Chairman Aykutalp Derkan, and board members. The ceremony ended after prayers were recited.
We came here to commemorate our founder Ali Sami Yen Bey on the 75th anniversary of his passing. I thank all our elders who have brought this beautiful club, which Ali Sami Yen Bey entrusted to us, to where it is today. Our duty from now on is to elevate this beautiful trust we have received to even greater heights and to bring Galatasaray to the position it deserves. We are doing everything we can for this.
Dursun Özbek and his delegation later also visited the grave of Süleyman Seba, the legendary president of Beşiktaş Club, located in the same cemetery.
