Galatasaray has paid the final installment due to Napoli for Victor Osimhen's transfer. The yellow-red club fulfilled its contractual obligations by promptly paying the remaining 17.5 million euros.
With this payment, Galatasaray's total payments to Napoli over the past eight months have reached 80 million euros. This move is said to have strengthened the relationship with the Italian club on a more respectful basis.
Osimhen, who stands out as the player with the highest transfer fee in Turkish football history, is reportedly not willing to leave. It was also stated that no official offer has been received by the club.
The Nigerian striker, who earns an annual guaranteed salary of 21 million euros, has attracted interest particularly from Manchester United and Chelsea through his agent. However, it was noted that these two Premier League clubs could not meet these figures and have for now stepped back.
It was also reported that Galatasaray's management has set Osimhen's transfer fee at a minimum of 140 million euros. For this reason, it is widely believed that the club will not easily let go of the player.
After the leagues ended, Osimhen stayed in Istanbul for a while before going on a new vacation. During this period, he was advised to use a special protective elbow brace to help his arm fracture heal better.
Why is the Osimhen case drawing attention?
The high transfer fee and salary have made this transfer case a closely watched topic in Europe. Galatasaray completing the payment schedule and the possibility of keeping the player in the team stand out as the two most notable aspects of this development.
