The general assembly meeting of Gençlerbirliği Club was held at Kocatepe Cultural Center. Haydar Arda Çakmak, who participated in the election as the sole candidate, was re-elected president by open voting.
In his speech at the general assembly, Çakmak reminded that they had to go to elections again in a short time and said the following:
There can be differences of opinion within the management, and we respect everyone's views. I wish those colleagues who fell into this disagreement hadn't brought our club to a general assembly today, and we could have done it at a more appropriate time. Because today Gençlerbirliği has hundreds of problems that need to be solved. Believe me, a general assembly is the last item that should have been on Gençlerbirliği's agenda. In no way should Gençlerbirliği have had to allocate time for this right now. Unfortunately, we did it. But hopefully, starting from today, with our new management, we will bring Gençlerbirliği to where it deserves, in a stronger way. There were talks, resentments. If I have any fault, on behalf of myself, I apologize to everyone. As of today, resentments and quarrels at Gençlerbirliği are over. On my part, I forgive everyone, and I also ask for forgiveness from everyone.
