İbrahim Kalın, head of Türkiye’s National Intelligence Organization, said the Turkic world would contribute to regional and global peace by establishing its own axis.
Kalın made the remarks in a speech at the 28th Meeting of the Conference of Intelligence and Security Organizations of the Turkic States, held in Burabay, Kazakhstan. The heads of intelligence and security institutions from across the Turkic world attended the meeting.
Call for joint action against terrorism
Highlighting the importance of cooperation and coordination among Turkic world countries, Kalın said joint action was needed in the fight against terrorism. He called for strategic coordination to be improved and deterrent capacity to be developed to ensure regional stability.
Kalın underscored the importance of establishing a multidimensional security infrastructure to combat new threats such as cyberspace and artificial intelligence. He also said technology-based cooperation in the defense industry needed to be strengthened.
Security of strategic corridors
Kalın said strategic corridors needed to be secured, listing the Middle Corridor and the Zangezur Corridor among the priority routes.

Kalın said that building the Turkic world’s own axis in a multipolar world order would contribute to regional and global peace. He said the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was an integral part of the Turkic world and stated that support should be given to protecting the TRNC’s rights and ensuring its representation on multilateral platforms.
Kalın said strengthening the Turkic world should not disturb any side, adding that Central Asia continued to preserve both its place in world history and its central role in current geopolitical transformations.
Countries attending the meeting
The heads of the intelligence and security institutions of Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan attended the meeting. Representatives of Tajikistan’s State Committee for National Security, Turkmenistan’s Ministry of National Security and Hungary’s Information Office also attended the conference as guests of honor.
Participants discussed current developments around the world, as well as a joint strategy for regional security, border security and the fight against terrorism. The steps needed to preserve regional security and stability in the face of existing threats were also on the meeting’s agenda.
