A knowledgeable source from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy assessed the latest situation regarding ship transits in the Strait of Hormuz in a statement to local Iranian media.
The source stressed that restrictions on ship transits would remain in place until conditions change, saying, "As long as the US's hostile actions and provocations continue, the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed and no permission will be granted for ship transits."
Underlining that traffic on this maritime route is currently at zero, the source said, "Any attempt to cross the Strait of Hormuz, especially by violating vessels, will be met with a response by the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran."
The source also noted that in recent days, several ships attempting to cross the strait with the support of the US military were stopped by the Iranian Armed Forces.
At the end of the statement, it was reiterated that under current conditions, traffic in the Strait of Hormuz has dropped to zero and that the waterway will be kept closed, with no transit permits issued, as long as US hostile actions continue.
