İş Bankası has secured a syndicated loan of approximately $1.3 billion in line with its sustainable financing framework. The loan will be used to finance activities focused on environmental and/or social benefits.
According to the bank's statement, the transaction was completed at a lower price level compared to the previous period during a time when risk appetite in global markets was fluctuating. The loan renewal involved 47 banks from 18 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and America.
İş Bankası CEO Hakan Aran stated that this transaction represents continued support for Turkey's sustainable economic development. He noted that renewing the syndicated loan provided in the same period last year reaffirmed confidence in both the bank and the Turkish economy.
Aran emphasized that this financing forms a strong resource for the bank's efforts aligned with sustainable development goals. He added that the funds will be used effectively and will contribute to sustainable economic growth.
He also highlighted support for the climate transformation plan carried out in line with net zero targets. Aran mentioned that the diversification of green financing solutions offered to customers in emission-intensive sectors will continue to meet reduction targets.
Aran described the bank's climate strategy as realistic, ambitious, and actionable, stating that they will continue to contribute to the real sector's transition to a low-carbon economy through sectoral roadmaps. The statement noted that this approach also supports customers' green transformation processes.
