Life has begun to return to normal in the city of Bandar Abbas in Iran's Hormozgan province, following air attacks carried out by the US and Israel since February 28.
The city, which is one of the country's important maritime and logistics centers due to its proximity to the Strait of Hormuz, was exposed to air attacks targeting port and maritime facilities during the months-long war.
These attacks caused extensive damage to the city's economic and commercial activities and directly affected the livelihoods of thousands of people.
Fishing sector suffers heavy blow
The city, where a significant portion of the population earns a living from fishing, experienced considerable economic losses as fishermen were unable to go to sea due to security conditions and military operations.
With the signing of the 14-point memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the war between Iran and the US and the cessation of hostilities, the city has begun to regain its pre-war vitality.
Lifting of US naval blockade proves effective
The lifting of the US naval blockade on Iran allowed fishermen to return to sea and resume their work.
This situation contributed to the gradual revival of economic and social life in the city.
With the reduction of security concerns, residents of this coastal city famous for maritime trade have begun to revisit beaches and shopping centers.
Sports facilities and stadiums have also become popular spots for young people with the return of daily life.
When did the memorandum of understanding come into effect?
Iran and the US announced on June 14, with Pakistan's mediation, that they had reached a 14-point memorandum aimed at stopping the war and resolving disputes through dialogue.
The memorandum, named the 'Islamabad Memorandum', came into effect on June 18 after being electronically signed by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and US President Donald Trump.
The memorandum includes ending the war, addressing its regional effects, reopening the Strait of Hormuz to international navigation, lifting the US naval blockade on Iran, and resuming negotiations between the two sides.
