Speaking at the graduation ceremony for the 16th term Joint Command and Staff Training and the 8th term Command and Staff Training of the National Defense University (MSÜ) War Colleges, held at the Yenilevent Campus with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Minister Güler wished the graduation ceremony to be auspicious and beneficial for the officers, their families, and the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK).
Güler stated that in today's world of geopolitical fractures, balances in the international system are rapidly shifting, and conflicts, wars, and security crises are occurring simultaneously across a wide area.
Noting that developments especially in the nearby region have once again demonstrated how vital security and defense issues are, Güler emphasized that as a country they closely follow all developments and, in line with the effective diplomacy and strong state will carried out under President Erdoğan's leadership, they resolutely take necessary measures on every matter concerning national security.
Güler said, 'Our constructive stance in resolving many crises and disputes, the diplomatic initiatives we have undertaken, our humanitarian aid, and the missions our heroic army has assumed in various geographies are further increasing our country's international prestige and influence. The successfully held NATO Leaders Summit has been a clear reflection of our country's international influence.'
Expressing gratitude to President Erdoğan on behalf of the Ministry of National Defense and the Turkish Armed Forces, Güler noted: 'The crises and wars we are experiencing show that strong armies can survive with modern weapon systems and qualified personnel who can think strategically, analyze correctly, and rapidly adapt to changing conditions.
In fact, today's operational environment necessitates not only military power and high technology but also mastery of information, developing foresight, multidimensional assessment, and making the right decision at the right time. However, we know very well that no matter how much technology advances, the human resource that will use it effectively will always remain the most decisive factor.
Therefore, we consider training activities, improving the quality of our personnel, and developing leadership capacity among our priorities.' Güler also stated that they regard staff officer training, an important developmental stage in the military profession, as a strategic investment shaping the future of the Turkish Armed Forces.
Güler said that the joint command and staff training and command and staff training conducted within the NDU contribute greatly to training leader personnel who have a joint operations mindset, can think at the strategic level, and can correctly read the changing security environment, and that the graduating staff officers will act with a high sense of duty in every task they undertake, in light of the knowledge and experience they have gained here. Güler also congratulated the guest military personnel from friendly, brotherly, and allied countries who successfully completed their training, and expressed his heartfelt belief that the friendships established and the knowledge shared here will make significant contributions to cooperation and mutual understanding between countries.
Stating that he respectfully commemorates all state elders and commanders from Metehan to Sultan Alparslan, from Fatih Sultan Mehmet to Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and up to the present day, Güler concluded his words as follows: 'I commemorate our beloved martyrs and our heroic veterans who have passed away with mercy and gratitude, and I offer my respect and thanks to our veterans and the precious families of our martyrs and veterans. I once again wholeheartedly congratulate my graduating friends and wish them great success. Mr. President, I once again express my gratitude to Your Excellency for never withholding your support in bringing our heroic Turkish Armed Forces to their current strong level and for honoring us with your presence at our ceremony on this meaningful day, and I salute you with respect.'
