In the Hakkari region, especially in high-altitude areas, inverted tulips have bloomed again with the arrival of spring this year. This rare plant species, commonly known as the 'weeping bride,' attracts attention with its flowers blooming in the opposite direction in red, orange, and yellow colors. Inverted tulips, which are about 75-120 centimeters tall, can live for many years thanks to underground organs such as bulbs, tubers, and rhizomes. These flowers usually bloom between March and May and remain vibrant for about 20 days. Hakkari and its surroundings are among the natural habitats of inverted tulips, and these plants are protected by the Cultural and Natural Heritage Conservation Board. The local people emphasize that inverted tulips should not be harmed. Because the administrative fine for picking inverted tulips can reach up to 700,000 TL. Inverted tulips are considered one of the region's important natural riches due to both their natural beauty and cultural significance.
