German sportswear company Adidas has announced it will extend its sponsorship partnership with Real Madrid for another eight years. The new agreement includes both football and basketball divisions.
The company recalled that the partnership was first formalized in 1980 and, after a brief pause following the 1998/1999 season, was resumed. The statement highlighted that during this period, Real Madrid achieved great success on the European stage, winning eight European Champion Clubs' Cup / UEFA Champions League titles.
Emphasis on Thirty Years of Collaboration
Adidas stated that the partnership is not limited to on-field performance products but also includes items that help fans connect with the club in their daily lives. The company added that this collaboration has produced some of the most iconic sportswear examples in football.
The statement also reminded that players like Zinedine Zidane, Toni Kroos, David Beckham, and Jude Bellingham have worn Adidas products on the field. The new agreement was announced shortly after the launch of Real Madrid’s new home jersey.
New Jersey and the Club’s Message
The company said the new jersey features dark green and vibrant pink details that highlight the club’s crest. Real Madrid President Florentino Pérez expressed that the strategic partnership between the two institutions has accompanied one of the club’s most special periods in the last thirty years.
Pérez added that the collaboration continues to nurture the feeling described as fans’ love for Madrid. Adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden stated he is proud that the Three Stripes brand remains part of this extraordinary success story.
