The Tax Inspection Board announced the completion of the second Declaration Monitoring Program for 2025 corporate tax returns.
The written statement noted that monitoring letters were sent to 36,015 taxpayers under the program, and that tax inspectors guided taxpayers on tax risks throughout the process.
Tax Base Increase and Loss Reduction
According to central analyses based on provisional tax declarations, corporate tax returns filed after the program, and other financial indicators, a tax base increase occurred for 7,972 taxpayers. These taxpayers increased their tax base by a total of 21.8 billion lira, while a loss reduction of 23.3 billion lira was observed for 3,308 taxpayers.
Additionally, tax payment obligations arose for 1,436 taxpayers. In total, a change of approximately 45.1 billion lira occurred in the corporate tax base of 9,844 taxpayers.
Changes in Other Indicators
According to the program results, an increase of 120.8 billion lira was detected in the gross sales revenue of 2,168 taxpayers, which did not align with past trends. In non-deductible expenses, a rise of over 4.5 billion lira was recorded for 3,151 taxpayers.
Meanwhile, 118 taxpayers declared an increase of 617.4 million lira in their value-added tax bases through corrective declarations.
Reduction in Audit Burden
The statement emphasized that, thanks to the monitoring work, the audit burden was reduced by over 70 percent for taxpayers who responded to tax inspectors, provided information on risk issues, and whose explanations were deemed satisfactory.
The statement added that taxpayers who could not provide reasonable explanations would be included in audit plans and the process would continue.
