Gazimağusa is preparing once again to become a hub for culture and arts this summer. The International Famagusta Culture and Arts Festival, organized by the Gazimağusa Municipality, will open its doors for the 26th time, transforming the city along with its historic venues into a stage.
The festival will be held from June 23 to July 16, 2026. Events will take place at Gazimağusa’s iconic locations, Othello Castle and Salamis Ancient Theatre.
Extensive Art Program in Historic Venues
This year’s program includes music, theater, dance, and special stage performances. The fusion of the historic atmosphere with the festival environment will offer a unique artistic experience to summer evenings.
The opening concert will be held on June 23 at Othello Castle, featuring Selin Geçit, one of the standout names of the younger generation. The opening event will be free of charge.
The festival schedule also includes the Kyprogenia performance, the play "War of the Giants," a concert by the Famagusta City Orchestra with Fikri Karayel, and international dance shows.
Pink Martini and Sertab Erener to Take the Stage
One of the most anticipated concerts is Pink Martini’s performance on July 14 at Salamis Ancient Theatre. The festival will conclude with a concert by Sertab Erener on July 16.
The municipality states that the festival aims to combine the city’s historical heritage with culture and arts, making Gazimağusa one of the key centers for international events.
The event is expected to bring together both local residents and visitors from abroad. It is emphasized that the festival will create a vibrant cultural movement throughout the summer by uniting international and local artists in the city.
Tickets for the events can be purchased from various sales points, while the opening concert will be free to attend.
In previous years, artists such as Natalie Cole, Goran Bregovic, the Bolshoi Ballet, and Anatolian Fire have performed. With this year’s selection, the festival aims to continue Gazimağusa’s tradition of culture and arts.
