Turkey’s Embassy in Rabat continued its dialogue with Sonia Mezzour, president of Morocco’s Exporters Confederation ASMEX, in a meeting at the embassy following the launch of the Turkish-Moroccan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CTCIM). The meeting featured a productive exchange of views, and Mezzour was thanked for her gracious visit.
The official launch of CTCIM took place on September 8, 2026, in Casablanca, Morocco. Turkey’s Ambassador to Rabat İlker Kılıç, ASMEX President Sonia Mezzour, General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises President Mehdi Tazi, and representatives of various trade and industrial organizations attended the event.

CTCIM focuses on investment and joint production
The new organization is positioned to bring the Turkish and Moroccan business communities together and develop investment, production and commercial links. CTCIM’s management aims to build a bridge between the private sectors of the two countries and increase mutually beneficial business opportunities through new partnerships.
The launch highlighted the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Turkey and Morocco and the 20th anniversary of the Free Trade Agreement. The participation of representatives from business organizations including the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises, ASMEX, FENELEC and the Casablanca-Settat Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services broadened the organization’s institutional framework.
Morocco is viewed as a base for production and access to third markets
ASMEX draws attention not only to increasing trade volume in Turkey-Morocco economic relations, but also to developing Turkish investments in Morocco, strengthening joint production opportunities and jointly taking products made in Morocco to third-country markets. This approach presents a framework that views Morocco not only as an export market, but also as a production hub serving international markets.
Ambassador İlker Kılıç said he expected CTCIM to contribute to developing new partnerships and investments between Turkish and Moroccan companies. The meeting with Sonia Mezzour at the embassy following the launch showed that the private-sector dialogue established around CTCIM is continuing through diplomatic and institutional channels.
