Turkish athletes settle in Senegal for Dakar Youth Olympics

The Turkish delegation competing at the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal, from October 31 to November 13 has moved into the Olympic Village. Türkiye’s Ambassador to Dakar, Dilşad Kırbaşlı Karaoğlu, visited the delegation and wished the athletes success.

Türkiye’s Ambassador to Dakar, Dilşad Kırbaşlı Karaoğlu, visited the Turkish athletes at the Olympic Village and conveyed her wishes for their success. The embassy said the competition schedule featuring the Turkish athletes would be announced later and invited all citizens to support the athletes throughout the games.

Africa’s first Olympic event

Dakar 2026 will be the first Olympic event organized by the International Olympic Committee on the African continent. Athletes aged 15 to 18 will compete in the games, which will be held in Dakar as well as the cities of Diamniadio and Saly.
