Following the annulment of CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress by the Ankara Regional Court of Justice, Adana Metropolitan Mayor Zeydan Karalar, who was suspended from his duty, called for the congress to be convened quickly before the new year to prevent the party from disintegrating and to maintain the public's trust. Karalar criticized Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's attitude, stating that the party is not confused but is being confused. Advocating that problems should be solved through mutual dialogue, Karalar said, "In my opinion, Kemal Bey acted wrongly. If there are issues, and I believe there are some problems, they should have been discussed and resolved. It did not happen that way." Emphasizing the need to be calm and rational to overcome the crisis, Karalar stated, "The congress must be convened quickly, a new chairman elected, and the journey continued. If we can do this, we will come out of this with minimal damage or perhaps even benefit. If we cannot, the party will disintegrate. We will lose the trust of the people." Highlighting that there are 8-10 months until the election, Karalar pointed to the new year for the congress schedule, saying, "If it passes the new year, it will be a disaster. Let the party members choose whoever they want. Let the debate end."
