The Yeşilay Esenyurt Youth Center, aimed at supporting the social, cultural, and personal development of young people, has officially opened. The center will organize activities in education, art, culture, and social development to help young people lead healthy lives free from addictions.
Yeşilay Aims for a Broader Scope of Work in Esenyurt
Yeşilay General President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Dinç stated that addiction harms not only the individual but also society. He noted that Yeşilay has counseling centers in 105 locations across Turkey and emphasized that Esenyurt holds special importance for them in Istanbul.
Dinç also highlighted that Yeşilay will increase its efforts. He said they aim to reach every neighborhood and street in Esenyurt, and with this center, the results of new initiatives will become visible over time.
Municipality Supports Youth Center with a Gift
Esenyurt Deputy Mayor Can Aksoy emphasized the importance of reaching out to children and young people in his speech. Aksoy announced that they gifted a mobile coffee machine to Cafe 1920 inside the Yeşilay Youth Center.
The center is positioned as a meeting point where young people can come together, participate in social activities, and develop themselves in various fields. With the opening, a new social support space for youth has been established in Esenyurt.
World Cup Match and Bicycle Tour on the Same Day
On the morning of June 14, it was announced that the match between the National Team and Australia in the 2026 World Cup will be watched on a big screen at Yeşilay General Center in Sepetçiler Kasrı. Following the match, the 13th Traditional Yeşilay Bicycle Tour will take place.
Thousands of young people across Turkey will pedal simultaneously, with the Istanbul leg starting from Sepetçiler Kasrı. The tour will pass through Karaköy, Beşiktaş, Balat, and Eyüpsultan, finishing back at Sepetçiler Kasrı.
