The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) sent 2,000 tons of flour for delivery to Palestinian refugees and displaced families in Lebanon.
A ceremony was held at the Port of Beirut for the delivery of the aid. Türkiye’s Ambassador to Beirut Murat Lütem, Secretary-General of Lebanon’s Higher Relief Council Bassam Nabulsi and UNRWA Lebanon Director Dorothea Klaus attended the ceremony.
Flour aid will be distributed to families
The flour sent by AFAD will be distributed among Palestinian refugees in Lebanon and families displaced by Israeli attacks. The aid is expected to help meet basic food needs and ease the financial burden on families.

Klaus said the aid would provide flour and bread to Palestinian refugees and displaced people affected by the economic consequences of the conflicts in Lebanon.
Türkiye’s aid to Lebanon continues
Türkiye’s Ambassador to Beirut Murat Lütem said Türkiye continued to assist people in need in Lebanon. Lütem said medicine had recently been provided to Lebanon and that support had also been given to shelter families who had left their homes because of Israeli attacks.

Lütem said tents, food, clothing and other humanitarian supplies had also been sent, adding that the amount of aid delivered over the past 2.5 years had exceeded 4,000 tons.
Lütem said approximately 300,000 Lebanese people still could not return to their homes because of the destruction caused by the attacks. Saying that Türkiye’s support would continue, Lütem said, “Our solidarity with Lebanon will continue.”
Lebanon thanks Türkiye
Secretary-General of Lebanon’s Higher Relief Council Bassam Nabulsi said the aid continued Türkiye’s support for Lebanon, provided for years through state institutions and humanitarian organizations.

Nabulsi said Turkish institutions had supported Lebanon during times of crisis and that they attached importance to cooperation with Türkiye. Saying that Türkiye and UNRWA were two key partners in meeting Lebanon’s humanitarian needs, Nabulsi described the flour aid as a sign of solidarity, friendship and humanitarian partnership.
UNRWA Lebanon Director Dorothea Klaus also thanked Türkiye and AFAD.
