Devlet Bahçeli, leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), ended his speech at his party’s parliamentary group meeting on Oct. 13 with an appeal to young people.
“I also address our young people: don’t be tempted by France, don’t fall for Western imperialism, stand by Türkiye — Türkiye is yours.” — Devlet Bahçeli
Student protests in France

In his speech, Bahçeli referred to street protests launched by high school and university students in France. Commenting on demonstrators gathering at the Place de la Bastille in Paris, he said the protests had the potential to spread from France to other European countries.
In the same speech, the MHP leader also addressed attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque and Greece’s policies, and said steps in the “terror-free Türkiye” process would continue to be taken seriously, with the process to be concluded as soon as possible.
