In a statement posted on his NSosyal account, Çelik rejected remarks by DEM Party Co-Chair Tülay Hatimoğulları targeting the AK Party and the government.
Çelik said a new era had begun in parliament with 467 votes in favor, arguing that Hatimoğulları’s initial remarks unfairly and baselessly targeted the AK Party and the government.
Reaction to remarks on Palestine
Çelik said that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Cabinet members, AK Party officials and the Turkish people had strongly opposed Israel’s occupation of Palestine.
Çelik said Türkiye would continue to oppose the occupation, stating: “Türkiye is the strongest voice of the alliance of humanity.”
Çelik alleged that Hatimoğulları had addressed opposition to Israel’s occupation of Palestine by endorsing Netanyahu’s remarks, and condemned this approach.
Arguing that no politician should cite Netanyahu’s remarks when presenting their own position, Çelik called on Hatimoğulları to correct her statement.
