Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan, in a video message shared on his social media account, said, 'Today I want to share with you a development that closely concerns approximately 3.5 million of our youth, including about 1 million who took the LGS and about 2.5 million who took the YKS. The high school and university preferences you will make based on the LGS and YKS results are one of the most important decisions that will shape your future.'
'In this process, we are resolutely continuing our efforts to support you in making the right decisions in your education and career journey. In this context, we have now opened the DABİS service, which was previously offered only through our İŞKUR İŞYOL vocational counselors and guidance teachers affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, to all students and parents via our İŞKUR mobile application.'
'In DABİS, we offer you an application designed with valuable information such as how long it will take to find a job in the vocational high school field or university department you choose, the wage level you can receive, the number of different jobs you will work in after graduation, how many of its graduates are employed, how many are entrepreneurs, how long on average you will continue that entrepreneurship if you become an entrepreneur, and how many of its graduates continue to academia. We present this application with 14 indicators for those choosing a vocational high school field and 15 indicators for those choosing a university department.'
Minister Işıkhan noted that two fields or different departments of universities can be compared with these indicators, and said, 'In addition to these digital services, our youth and parents who want professional support especially during the preference period can go to İŞKUR provincial directorates and service centers across Turkey to receive preference counseling from our İŞYOL vocational counselors. We will continue to stand by our youth at every step that will contribute to their ability to evaluate their potential in the most accurate way. I invite you to download İŞKUR Mobile and use the DABİS application, the most comprehensive application in this field, and shape your preferences with data and counselor support.'
