İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu reacted sharply to the discussions about absolute invalidity within CHP and the claims of operations and arrests targeting Özgür Özel.
Dervişoğlu argued that a party leader who has been granted a certificate of election by the Supreme Election Council (YSK) cannot be removed from office through local or regional courts. He described this approach as an attempted coup against democracy.
Addressing the claims that Özel might be arrested, Dervişoğlu said such a move would disrupt social peace and tranquility. He noted that the Turkish nation eventually restores the rights of those wronged.
Stressed that politics should be decided by the ballot box, not courts
Dervişoğlu expressed that they do not want trusteeship or tutelage democracy. He stated that they want a Turkey where politics is determined by the ballot box, not courts, and that they desire a republic, not a sultanate.
He also mentioned that these debates are seen as stepping stones that lead a person to a lifelong presidency, which he emphasized is unacceptable in politics.
Responded to the "state wisdom" debate
At the end of his speech, Dervişoğlu addressed the "state wisdom" debate, calling it shameful to try to feed lawlessness with insinuations of a deep state. He stated that the state does not have a deep side but has the law.
Dervişoğlu added that the wisdom of the state should be sought in laws, not in darkness, and that the word "state" should not be used to justify injustice.
