DSP Deputy Chairman İbrahim Halil Yumuşak has resigned from the party. He explained his resignation was due to the attitude of Chairman Önder Aksakal during discussions with Özgür Özel and his team. A delegation led by CHP Deputy Group Chairman Murat Emir had met with the DSP delegation. Yumuşak, who participated in the meeting, described the process leading to his resignation as follows:

When we expressed that DSP could be one of the best options for them, he stated that he wanted to learn DSP's stance in such a situation.
Without revealing our personal preference, we indicated that our party members might generally have a positive approach to the matter, but we could not predict the chairman's attitude. We also mentioned that if deemed appropriate, the chairman could join the next meeting. We agreed on confidentiality and concluded the meeting.
After the meeting, Chairman Önder Aksakal was informed by us, and it was concluded that it would be appropriate for our Party Secretary-General Hasan Erçelebi to attend any similar future meetings.
However, when the goals and objectives of Mr. Emir were discussed, Mr. Aksakal suddenly changed his mind, stating that only deputies not associated with corruption within this group could join DSP, that he would chair this group if a parliamentary group was formed, that his chairmanship was not up for discussion, and that none of the new members could even run in the upcoming major congress.
"He said he had met with the Kılıçdaroğlu team"
Mr. Aksakal continued his subjective approach, based on hearsay and disregarding the presumption of innocence, the next day during a previously scheduled Presidential Board meeting, stating he was in contact with the Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu faction within CHP. However, he did not elaborate on the scope or content of this contact or how it would benefit DSP, offering no vision.
The meeting with Mr. Emir, despite our confidentiality agreement, was immediately leaked to the evening press by Mr. Aksakal with arguments in his favor, disregarding our promise and public trust, sabotaging the talks at an early stage. Thus, DSP, which failed to participate in the last two general elections, received only 46,900 votes nationwide in the most recent local elections, has been politically marginalized, struggles with significant organizational difficulties due to lack of supporters, is on the verge of collapse, survives by selling party assets, cannot pay the salaries of even three employees, has its building seized due to social security and tax debts, and has no political activity, has missed another opportunity due to the ambitions and desires of its chairman, moving one step closer to becoming a political relic.
Yumuşak stated he could no longer tolerate working with Aksakal and announced his resignation. YRP's Kılıç commented: If hope is lost in the main opposition, hope is lost in the entire opposition.
