Electricity production from hydraulic power plants in Turkey broke records in April. According to data from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, total electricity production last month was recorded as 28.14 billion kilowatt-hours. Of this production, 41.4% was provided by hydroelectric power plants. The amount of electricity produced from hydroelectric power plants in April reached the highest level in history at 11.66 billion kilowatt-hours. This increase is attributed to the impact of rainfall. This rise in hydraulic energy production is considered an important development for Turkey's energy resource diversity and sustainable energy goals.
