Emlak Konut Key Ideas Summit brings together technology and investment worlds
The second summit organized by Emlak Konut GYO brought together over 1,000 participants, 60 technology startups, and 20 investment funds. General Manager Yasir Yılmaz announced that a Venture Capital Investment Fund will be established under EKIP.
Emlak Konut Key Ideas Summit 2026, organized this year for the second time by Emlak Konut GYO, was held at Rixos Tersane Istanbul. The summit brought together public representatives, investors, entrepreneurs, academics, students, and industry professionals under one roof.
Held under the theme 'Every Invention Is a New Milestone,' the summit addressed entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, smart cities, energy technologies, proptech and contech solutions, and the future of the investment ecosystem.
YASIR YILMAZ: 'WE ARE CREATING AN ECOSYSTEM THAT BRINGS IDEAS TO THE FIELD' Speaking at the summit's opening, Emlak Konut GYO General Manager Yasir Yılmaz stated that behind every major transformation in human history lie strong ideas, and said that the Emlak Konut Key Ideas Summit has become an important platform where knowledge turns into production.
Yılmaz noted that they had developed collaborations with many startups after the first summit held last year, and stated that they have built a structure where ideas are not only discussed but also put into practice. Yılmaz said, 'Our approach is to turn ideas into practice and bring technologies to the field.
With the Emlak Konut Innovation Platform, or EKIP, which we created with this understanding, we have built a strong structure that supports the development of startups and enables innovative technologies to find application areas.' he said.
OVER 1,000 PARTICIPANTS, 60 TECHNOLOGY STARTUPS, AND 20 INVESTMENT FUNDS Stating that this year's summit was held with a much broader participation, Yılmaz said that over 1,000 participants took part in the organization, and 60 technology startups and 20 investment funds were present at the summit as important actors of the ecosystem.
Yılmaz said that within the scope of EKIP, they have signed cooperation protocols with approximately 40 leading universities and technoparks in Turkey to date, and are working on new models that will enable startups to meet with investors.
Yılmaz stated that with the ideathon, acceleration, and PoC processes carried out within the program, support is provided to entrepreneurs in their product development and commercialization processes, and noted that 56 teams competed in ideathons held in 5 different cities this year, and 15 finalist teams earned the right to showcase their projects at the summit.
29 STARTUPS GRADUATED, 11 STARTUPS BECAME SOLUTION PARTNERS Yılmaz stated that 29 startups graduated within the acceleration program, 11 startups were integrated into Emlak Konut's processes as solution partners, and 17 startups were included in PoC processes.
Emphasizing that these results show that ideas turn into products and startups find concrete returns within the industry, Yılmaz expressed that young entrepreneurs and technology developers play a critical role in the sector's transformation.
MET WITH OVER 6,000 STUDENTS Stating that they attach great importance to supporting young talent, Yılmaz said that within the Young Talent Program, they have met with over 6,000 students at 37 universities.
Stating that the program reveals young people's production capabilities and solution development competencies, Yılmaz expressed that they aim to be the first solution partner that comes to mind for startups and a platform trusted by investors.
INVESTMENT SUPPORT FOR STARTUPS FROM EMLAK KONUT Also announcing a new step towards technology and entrepreneurship investments in his speech, Yılmaz announced that a Venture Capital Investment Fund will be established under EKIP.
Yılmaz stated that thanks to the fund, startups will be supported not only in the idea and product development stages but also in their growth and investment processes, and said, 'We aim to contribute to the growth of promising startups on the journey from idea to product and from product to investment, and to add lasting value to our technology ecosystem.' he said.
'WE WILL BE A GLOBAL PLAYER IN TECHNOLOGY AS WELL AS IN REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT' Emphasizing that Emlak Konut brings its 73 years of experience together with future technologies, Yılmaz said that its subsidiary companies carry out important work in different areas of expertise.
Stating that EPP operates in project development and management, EKA Asansör in the domestic industry field, and EKA Energy and Technology in energy solutions, digital infrastructures, and technology projects, Yılmaz noted that Emlak Konut Global evaluates its knowledge on an international scale with the Hayat Mecca Project.
Yılmaz said, 'We see Proptech and Contech areas as strategic headings that will shape the future of our sector. Our goal is to become a globally referenced structure not only in real estate development but also in real estate and construction technologies.' he said.
DEPUTY MINISTER ÖMER BULUT: 'TECHNOLOGY-FOCUSED DEVELOPMENT IS SHAPING THE FUTURE OF OUR CITIES' Speaking at the program, Deputy Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Ömer Bulut stated that comprehensive work is being carried out in the fields of technology, innovation, and sustainable urbanization in line with the Turkey Century vision.
Bulut stated that Turkey has increased its technology production capacity in line with the National Technology Initiative goals set forth by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and said that innovative solutions developed in the urbanization and construction sectors make significant contributions to the country's development goals.
Pointing to the importance of the public, private sector, academia, and entrepreneurship ecosystem acting with a common mind while preparing Turkey's cities for the future, Bulut noted that the Emlak Konut Key Ideas Summit is an important platform that strengthens these collaborations.
