The Energy Market Regulatory Authority's (EPDK) Regulation Amending the Electricity Market Connection and System Usage Regulation was published in the Official Gazette and entered into force.
Annual update principle introduced
Under the new regulation, the investment amount subject to repayment calculated by Türkiye Elektrik İletim AŞ (TEİAŞ) within the framework of the relevant article will be updated based on Consumer Price Index (CPI) values. The update will be carried out once a year in January after the repayment begins.
How will index values be determined?
Within the scope of the update, the index for the December preceding the month of the last update will be taken as the base index value. The current index value will be calculated based on the index for the December preceding the January of the update.
First update and transitional provisions
The update will be carried out on the remaining investment amount subject to repayment. The first update will be made in the January following the month repayment begins, and in this first application, the index for the month in which the last provisional acceptance approval of the transmission assets specified in the connection agreement was made will be used as the base index value.
Additionally, under the other added article, the update procedures to be carried out within the scope of Article 20, paragraph six will apply to transmission facilities whose provisional acceptance is approved on or after January 27, 2026.
Furthermore, the phrase 'fixed' in paragraph four of Article 20 of the Electricity Market Connection and System Usage Regulation published in 2014 has been repealed.
