President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, speaking at the opening of the 2,000-bed Şanlıurfa City Hospital, said "no one will be able to come between us and our goal of a terror-free Türkiye," adding that for two years "laments have not risen from homes." On the investigation into the fund market, he said the first priority was to protect the economy and the second was to bring anyone who made illicit gains to justice, stressing that Turkish capital markets would "continue on their way much stronger."
Erdoğan said investments worth a total of 8.5 billion liras are under way in Şanlıurfa, with 16 health facilities under construction. Projects in progress include the 100-bed Harran State Hospital, the 100-bed Siverek Maternity and Children's Hospital and a 200-bed annex to Viranşehir State Hospital, while 17 more health facilities are at the tender, project or land stage.
Erdoğan said transport investments in Şanlıurfa have exceeded 91 billion liras, with divided roads extended from 28 to 630 kilometers and projects such as the Nissibi Bridge, the Şanlıurfa-Birecik Motorway and the Şanlıurfa-Diyarbakır and Şanlıurfa-Viranşehir roads completed. He added that a new 320-kilometer motorway will be built between Şanlıurfa and Ovaköy as part of the Development Road Project.
