Ukraine has received a new financing tranche of 2.8 billion euros from the European Union under the Ukraine Facility program. This brings the total support provided to the country under the mechanism to over 29.4 billion euros.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliya Svyrydenko announced that the payment has been received. Considering the repayment of previously provided advance financing, the actual amount transferred to the state budget was reported as 2.6 billion euros.
The government stated that these funds will be allocated to priority expenditures in the state budget and will be used especially to meet social and humanitarian needs.
11 Criteria Met
It was reported that Ukraine completed the set of 11 indicators under the Ukraine Facility Plan for the release of this tranche. These indicators covered public administration, economic policy, energy, digitalization, and the rule of law.
Additionally, some conditions for subsequent financing stages were met earlier than planned, which for the first time allowed additional compensation as a reward for early reform commitments.
Reform Schedule Continues
By the end of May 2026, Ukraine has implemented 86 measures under the Plan, with 65 measures at various stages of progress. The government stated it continues to systematically implement changes to maintain economic stability, support the country's recovery, and advance progress toward European Union membership.
The parliament also passed a law approving the macro-financial assistance agreement providing Ukraine with 90 billion euros in loans.
