A European country has offered to transfer Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets that are currently on the production line to Türkiye, according to an exclusive report by Turkish defense news site SavunmaSanayiST. If the offer is accepted, Türkiye could receive brand-new Typhoons before 2030, the report said.
The report did not name the country, the number of aircraft or the terms of the offer. It noted that aircraft for Germany, Italy and Spain are currently in production. There has been no official comment from Türkiye on the offer.
Current order: 20 jets, first deliveries in 2030

Türkiye signed a deal worth about £5.4 billion with the United Kingdom on Oct. 27, 2025, ordering 20 new-build Tranche 4 Typhoons along with mission equipment and munitions. Under the current schedule, six aircraft will be delivered in 2030, eight in 2031 and six in 2032. Final assembly is taking place at Warton in the UK, and BAE Systems confirmed in its 2026 half-year results that production had begun.
Under a support and training agreement signed in London on March 25, 2026, valued by BAE Systems at about £2.5 billion, the Royal Air Force will train 10 Turkish instructor pilots and about 100 maintenance instructors. Pilot flight training has already begun.
Second-hand jets from Qatar and Oman
Türkiye is also negotiating with Qatar and Oman for second-hand Typhoons to fill the gap until the new aircraft arrive. The transfer of 12 Tranche 4 jets from Qatar was planned, but deliveries have reportedly been delayed by the conflict in the region.
