A school in Azerbaijan has allegedly barricaded its entrance to prevent students and teachers wearing headscarves from entering the building.
Footage shows desks and chairs piled against the inside of the school’s glass doors, with people waiting outside. Where and when the video was filmed could not be independently verified.
Dress code extended to teachers

Azerbaijan’s Cabinet of Ministers changed school uniform rules on Sept. 21. The rules do not name the headscarf explicitly but bar clothing that violates the integrity of the uniform or the principle of secularism. New rules on teachers’ attire were approved on Oct. 6, and some teachers in Baku and Sumgait said school administrators asked them to remove their headscarves or resign.
Since then, headscarved students have been turned away from schools in various parts of the country. At one school in Jalilabad, administrators reportedly locked the doors from inside, and students at some schools have boycotted classes.
