Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan begins an official two-day visit to Canada tomorrow.
On the first day of the visit, Fidan will visit the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station in Toronto to examine Canada’s nuclear energy capacity on site. He will also attend a meeting with businesspeople, civil society representatives and academics.
On the second day, Fidan will meet with his Canadian counterpart Anita Anand in the capital Ottawa and hold talks to elevate bilateral relations to the level of a strategic partnership.
Canadian Foreign Minister Anand visited Turkey last March.
Meanwhile, the trade volume between the two countries was recorded at approximately $2.7 billion by the end of 2025. Of this figure, Turkey’s exports accounted for $1.57 billion and imports $1.16 billion.
Turkish Airlines also increased its weekly flights to Canada from 12 to 21 in May.
