The forest fire that broke out on June 24 in the Drôme department in southeastern France remains uncontained despite the time that has passed. The fire, which started in a wooded area near the town of Die, is being tackled by 220 firefighters.

So far, 115 hectares have been reduced to ash in the area, where rocky and steep terrain is complicating firefighting efforts.
Meanwhile, the French meteorological agency Météo-France has raised alert levels nationwide due to the fire risk. A "red" alert has been issued for six departments, including Aude and Hérault, and an "orange" alert for 14 departments, including Drôme and Var. The high-risk areas are mostly concentrated in the south and west of the country.
