Galatasaray Club held its annual ordinary general assembly at the Haliç Congress Center with the participation of more than 1,000 people. At the meeting, which began at 10:00 a.m., members shared their views after presentations by the board and audit board.
Following presentations by President Dursun Özbek, treasurer board member Mehmet Burak Kutluğ and the audit board, the discharge of the board and audit board was put to separate votes. Özbek’s board was discharged by an overwhelming majority of the members. The audit board was also discharged by the members.

Özbek calls for unity and solidarity
Speaking after the discharge votes, Dursun Özbek thanked the members for their confidence. Özbek said the discharge decision was not merely an assessment of the previous period, but also a reminder of the responsibility they carried toward Galatasaray.
Özbek said different views had been expressed at the general assembly and that the democratic process had been carried out, adding that they had major goals ahead. He said they could achieve these goals in unity and solidarity, and stated that he and the board would continue working to live up to the confidence placed in them by the members.

Özbek said they had set out four years ago to make Galatasaray better and that there was still much to do for the club. He said they wanted to leave future generations a stronger, more successful and sustainable Galatasaray, adding that they had achieved what they had so far together and would continue to achieve more together.
The general assembly ended after applications from members who had received disciplinary sanctions were discussed and decided.
