A LOT Polish Airlines plane flying from Warsaw to Tel Aviv entered Turkish airspace while broadcasting the 7500 hijack code.
Two F-16 fighter jets of the Turkish Air Force then took off and escorted the Polish plane until it left Turkish airspace.
The aircraft crew reported that there was no adverse situation, while authorities said all precautions had been taken.
The Polish plane landed at Burgas Airport in Bulgaria.
LOT Polish Airlines stated that the incident was caused by the pilot reporting the wrong code and that there was no actual hijacking.
