Iranian diplomat Nasser Asedi said in a speech during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should speak in a courtroom rather than at the United Nations podium.
Criticizing the decision to allow Netanyahu to address the General Assembly, Asedi said the United Nations was established to preserve peace and establish justice. The Iranian diplomat said the United Nations was not a platform for war criminals to make speeches.

Asedi said the International Criminal Court had issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu and that Netanyahu's place was in a courtroom, not at the United Nations podium.

As Netanyahu addressed the General Assembly, several international delegations left the chamber in protest of the continued attacks in Gaza despite the ceasefire, the seizure of land in the occupied West Bank, and attacks on Syria and Lebanon.
Netanyahu also faced protests from crowds gathered outside the United Nations building.
