Farmers harvesting watermelons in the Tyre region of southern Lebanon faced an unexpected attack. It was reported that Israeli forces dropped three phosphorus bombs near the Mansuri junction. Three civilians were detained in the incident, and one person was injured. This attack occurred during a period when Israel repeatedly violated the ceasefire, and similar incidents have been ongoing for a long time. Human Rights Watch (HRW) confirmed footage of white phosphorus use in the town of Yohmor, Lebanon, in March 2026. The use of such weapons, especially in residential areas, is prohibited under international law. The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that since October 2023, 173 people have been harmed due to white phosphorus exposure. In Gaza, it was reported that more than 2,800 Palestinians have gone missing, and this situation is linked to the use of thermobaric and thermal weapons. These weapons cause severe destruction by exploding at very high temperatures. International treaties strictly prohibit the use of incendiary weapons against civilians. Human rights organizations are calling on countries that provide Israel with weapons support to suspend this aid. The situation faced by civilians in Lebanon and Gaza once again highlights the scale of the humanitarian crisis in the region.
