In a statement on his social media account, Tugay said: The "Absolute Nullity" decision imposed on our Republican People's Party and the events that followed are well known to everyone. I see and understand that this process has caused great harm to our party, which was founded by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and established our Republic. The recent consecutive expulsion decisions are particularly alarming.
Yesterday, the removal of our Izmir Provincial Chairman along with a group of provincial heads was a great injustice and an unacceptable mistake against Izmir's political will. The reckless disregard of the political will coming from our party members and voters signals similar decisions to be made in the coming days. It is impossible to consider these consecutive decisions as normal or acceptable.
Under these conditions, I believe it is inevitable to face the stark realities. Of course, we all have responsibilities to restore our party to a normal democratic management environment as soon as possible. Until now, I have tried to contribute to this process as much as I could through my stance, statements, and by signing for an extraordinary congress.
However, I understand and see that our good-faith efforts will not yield results within the expected timeframe, and many of our party members will continue to be unfairly and unlawfully targeted. I sincerely believe that our country needs a Republican People's Party free from all kinds of schemes, tutelage, and manipulation, working for the rights and welfare of our people.
I will continue to be part of this struggle throughout my life. However, the "Absolute Nullity CHP" is not the umbrella for this struggle. Follow our news on Google Add us to your favorites to instantly access the latest news and breaking developments via Google.

From now on, I will continue my role as the Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality independently and will serve our city and people with all my strength.
RESIGNATIONS CONTINUE Following Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Cemil Tugay's announcement of his resignation from the Republican People's Party (CHP), it has been learned that Deputy Mayor Levent Yıldır and CHP Council Members Mustafa Özuslu and Atilla Baysak have also resigned from the CHP.
