Creedence Clearwater Revival's legendary frontman John Fogerty said he wants Timothée Chalamet to star in the biographical film about his life.
Speaking at an event for the Songwriters Hall of Fame's 55th anniversary, Fogerty explained that the film is in the preparation stage and the script is currently being written. The artist said he sees the project as "a great honor" and expressed his satisfaction that the film will eventually meet the audience.
When asked who he would like to portray him, Fogerty said he first jokingly mentioned Brad Pitt. He then stated his preference was Timothée Chalamet, saying, "You know that guy who played Bob Dylan? Well, he would be great."
Chalamet recently stood out for his performance as Bob Dylan in the film A Complete Unknown. The actor personally performed Dylan's key songs in the film and had previously said he prepared for the role for a long time.
Fogerty largely kept the details of the biopic under wraps. However, he said he would be happy with the result no matter who they choose.
The artist recounted that years ago he thought a film would be made about him one day, but he told those around him at the time that he would not be the right age to play himself. Fogerty expressed his openness to the process, saying, "I'll be happy whoever makes this possible."
