Konate to leave Liverpool for free in the summer
Liverpool announced that Ibrahima Konate will leave the team when his contract expires. The French defender could not reach a new agreement.
Liverpool has confirmed that Ibrahima Konate will leave the club when his contract ends this summer. It was reported that no agreement was reached in the negotiations for a new contract.
The 27-year-old defender joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig in 2021 and played 183 matches during his time at the club. Konate won the Premier League, FA Cup, two League Cups, and the Community Shield during this period. In his message announcing his departure, he said he was sorry he did not get the chance to say goodbye to the fans.
