Kazakhstan's Energy Ministry reported that oil shipments are continuing as normal following the drone attack that occurred near the Caspian Pipeline Consortium's (CPC) Black Sea terminal on July 17.
According to the ministry's statement, the attack targeted the oil tanker Nordic Zenith. The tanker was empty at the time and was en route to the port to load crude oil. The crew quickly extinguished the fire using their own resources, and no casualties or injuries were reported.
The statement included the phrase, 'There is no threat to Kazakh oil,' and emphasized that all technological infrastructure at the terminal is operating without interruption and that oil loading onto tankers continues as usual.
CPC operates a 1,511-kilometer pipeline connecting oil fields in western Kazakhstan and Russia's Caspian Sea fields to the marine terminal in Novorossiysk. Approximately 80 percent of Kazakhstan's oil exports are transported via this pipeline.
Meanwhile, on April 5, a fire broke out at Russia's largest oil terminal on the Black Sea coast due to a drone attack.
