The Strait of Hormuz maintains its importance as a critical sea route through which about one-fifth of the world's oil trade passes. However, recent attacks have seriously endangered maritime activities in the region. As a result of these attacks, 10 sailors lost their lives and many were injured. Maritime companies are reluctant to send their ships through the area due to dangerous conditions. This situation has led to approximately 20,000 crew members on about 1,600 ships being stranded in and around the Strait of Hormuz. These developments in the region could cause a significant disruption in global oil trade and increase risks for international maritime transport.
