MasterChef Türkiye judge Mehmet Yalçınkaya saves choking contestant
A contestant on MasterChef Türkiye began choking on food during a challenge, and judge Mehmet Yalçınkaya saved him by performing the Heimlich maneuver.
Tense moments unfolded on the latest episode of MasterChef Türkiye when contestant Emre began choking on food during a challenge in which the blue team was competing for a cash prize.
Judge Mehmet Yalçınkaya noticed and immediately intervened, performing the Heimlich maneuver to save him. The production’s medical staff then checked on Emre’s condition.
“I couldn’t swallow it, it went down my throat. I’m fine now,” Emre said afterwards.
The Heimlich maneuver is a first aid technique in which upward pressure is applied to the abdomen to dislodge an object blocking the airway.
