The Ministry of Trade has prepared a new draft regulation for retail trade. The draft was shaped taking into account the experience gained in implementation and feedback from the sector.
According to a written statement from the Ministry, the regulation's name has been changed to "Regulation on Principles and Rules to be Applied in the Supply Chain." The regulation aims to strengthen the supply chain, ease local trade, and increase the economic value of women's labor.
The statement noted that the concepts of producer and supplier have been included in the regulation, and a query screen will be created within the Ministry of Trade to determine payment periods more quickly. Additionally, due to 2025 being declared the Year of Cooperatives, priority will be given on chain market shelves to local products of cooperatives whose majority of members are women.
Furthermore, regulations will also be implemented for large-scale bakeries capable of mass production to ensure that bread, a basic food item, reaches consumers at more affordable prices.
