Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said the Yerevan administration is working to open inter-state communication channels with Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
Pashinyan attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation+ meeting in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. In his address at the meeting, he said the international community needs a multipolar world and that this is one of the reliable ways to ensure stability and peace.
Armenia's foreign policy approach
Pashinyan said Armenia, as a small state, contributes to the formation of a multipolar world and that Yerevan defines this approach as a “balanced and balancing foreign policy.”
He said the main objective of this policy is to protect and strengthen Armenia's sovereignty and independence. Pashinyan said friendly relations with Iran and Georgia had been deepened and that Armenia was moving toward establishing inter-state relations with Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
Pashinyan said the process had become more concrete following the peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan that he said was achieved on August 8, 2025, with the support and participation of U.S. President Donald Trump.
The TRIPP project
In his address, Pashinyan also referred to the TRIPP project, known as the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity.” He said the project would create new transport links not only between the east and west but also between the south and north.
Pashinyan said the TRIPP project would connect the Caspian Sea to the Mediterranean and the Persian Gulf to the Black Sea, adding that all countries in the region would benefit from its implementation.
