California Representative Eric Swalwell announced he will resign from Congress following sexual harassment allegations against him. After the allegations were revealed by the San Francisco Chronicle, two women, Ally Sammarco and Annika Albrecht, shared their experiences on the CBS Mornings program. Albrecht stated that after meeting with a student group in Washington D.C. in 2019, Swalwell invited her to a hotel room, and that invitation clearly carried a sexual implication. Sammarco said she received inappropriate messages from Swalwell via Snapchat in 2021. Both women criticized Swalwell's behavior, while Swalwell denied the allegations but admitted to past mistakes. Additionally, Democratic content creator Cheyenne Hunt revealed she received messages from other women with similar experiences. Swalwell also ended his California gubernatorial campaign. Fox News requested further comment from Swalwell.
