The exhibition “Dali Cybernetics: A Journey into the Mind of Genius,” which reinterprets Spanish painter Salvador Dalí’s works, scientific curiosity and surrealist world through digital technologies, has opened to visitors at the Digital Experience Center in Istanbul. Organized at the center operated by Kültür AŞ, a subsidiary of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, the exhibition spans approximately 2,000 square metres.
Developed with the support of the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation, the exhibition was created by Barcelona-based Layers of Reality. First opened in Barcelona in 2022, it has reached hundreds of thousands of visitors in 14 cities, including London, Berlin, Copenhagen, Lisbon and Athens.

The exhibition presents Dalí’s works associated with melting clocks and optical illusions through large-scale projections, interactive installations, and augmented and virtual reality applications. The artist’s interest in DNA, geometry, the fourth dimension and nuclear physics is also among the exhibition’s themes. In the “Dalivers: Dalí’s Virtual Universe” section, visitors travel aboard a virtual ship through landscapes inspired by the artist’s imaginary world.

The exhibition also presents a special selection of photographs taken by photographer Ara Güler during his meetings with Dalí in 1971. The “Immersive Experience Room” uses 30 4K projectors and 360-degree wall and floor projection technology. The “Cinema Room” screens a film created based on the documentaries “Dali in New York,” released in 1965, and “Dali’s Fantastic Dream,” released in 1966.
