Due to an air quality problem detected in the Pentagon's main building, evacuations and security measures have been put into effect in certain sections. Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell announced that the building's internal systems identified an issue related to air quality.
An investigation has been launched to determine the source of the problem, while protective protocols have been activated in specific areas as a precaution. Authorities instructed personnel in the affected zones to remain in their locations. Emergency teams are also operating inside the building.
Local sources reported that some floors and corridors of the Pentagon complex have been temporarily closed. Security and hazardous materials teams, supported by the Arlington County Fire Department, are conducting operations at the scene. The fire department confirmed via social media that a hazardous materials operation is underway at the Pentagon.
While investigations continue into the cause of the air quality issue, officials have not yet provided detailed statements. The duration of the Russia-Ukraine war has now surpassed that of World War I.
