Search operations continue in designated areas in the investigation into the disappearance of Gülistan Doku, a student in the Child Development Department at Munzur University, who has been missing in Tunceli since January 5, 2020.
Within the scope of the investigation, 12 of the 15 suspects detained were arrested, while judicial control measures were imposed on 3 suspects. It was reported that a red notice was issued by Interpol for the fugitive suspect Umut Altaş mentioned in the file, who was later captured and taken into custody.
Before his capture, Altaş reportedly stated that he did not know the exact location of the body and indicated that the landfill area next to the water treatment plant in the university, Aktuluk Neighborhood, and Bayraktepe vicinity should be searched.
Following this statement, under the coordination of the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Justice, Gendarmerie Search and Rescue teams affiliated with the General Command of the Gendarmerie began searches at the specified locations. Underground imaging devices are being used in the operations.
The teams continue their inspections around Dinar Stream, Munzur University, and Sarısaltuk Viaduct. It was reported that infrared signals from the devices are used to create three-dimensional images of the underground, allowing detailed examination of suspicious areas.
